Nowadays, aluminum railings with glass panels are very popular. They are a lasting and reliable choice, and provide the desired coziness and comfort. This type of railings is growing in demand for the construction of homes with a view.
Glass panels in variety of shape, color and thickness can be placed in between the aluminum columns of the railing. They are mounted by special holders attached to the columns of the railings. They are suitable for balconies and verandas with a view.
Tempered glass pane is aimed to provide a greater safety, sturdiness and security. During the process of manufacturing, the glass, pre-treated and cut to size, is subjected to high temperature heating and then to a rapid cooling. Once the annealing is done, the glass can no longer be cut, edged, drilled or undergo any other treatment apart from matting and lamination. To make this glass, it is first cut and treated, then it is placed in the annealing furnace. In the furnace the glass is heated up to 700ºC, then it is moved to the cooling section, via computer control, in which it is cooled rapidly by high-pressure air. This rapid cooling causes high compression and stress in the glass as a result its nucleus remains under pressure. Although the physical characteristics remain unchanged, the additional tensions created within the glass, increases its thermal and mechanical strength.
Glass can be laminated – Triplex. Laminated glass is also safe glass. Unlike tempered glass (Sekurit) the Triplex has other advantages and properties. Triplex glass is made of two layers of clear glass that are glued (laminated) with a stable colorless PVB layer between the glass panels. If Triplex glass breaks in a road accident, from an impact with a solid object in motion, or in an attempted burglary or in other instances, the Triplex does not break into sharp pieces, but into individual fragments that remain glued to the film, thus it cannot injure people located near the broken glass. Even when broken and cracked the triplex glass does not fall apart and remains like a barrier against other influences, which is a great advantage.
Glass for railings can be tinted in different colors. The technology of production of tinted glass is similar to that of the colorless float since in the beginning of its manufacturing process metal oxides are added to the main raw materials, that allow the corresponding color variations – green, blue, gray, bronze. In addition to the benefits provided by their distinctive aesthetics, tinted float glass is primarily designed to reduce solar heat, UV exposure and reflections inside the building.
Tinted float glass achieves its features by absorbing solar energy, thus sometimes it is referred to as heat absorbing glass. This heat absorbing quality means that the glass is under thermal pressure, thus some thicker or darker products may need to be tempered in order to avoid breakage by thermal stress.
Tinted glass can be treated, tempered, laminated and bent. They are used for solar control, since they absorb more heat than the transparent glass and emit most of the absorbed heat outside by means of natural convection.
Handrail mounted on brackets and secured to the wall.
Particularly suitable for balconies and staircases in kindergartens and schools.
Horizontally placed round or rectangular profiles.
We provide a 10-year warranty for our railings – a period in which we guarantee peace and security.
The removal of damage and defects are carried out as soon as possible both during the warranty and after warranty periods.
